From Vitruvius to William Morris to Frank Lloyd Wright to Edith Wharton to Le Corbusier to Paul Rand -there has always been a particularly special relationship between designers and books: reading them, writing them, designing them, collecting them, learning from them, and being inspired by them. Over the last year and a half Designers & Books has celebrated that relationship by publishing lists of books that esteemed members of the international design community have identified as personally important, meaningful, and formative. Books that have shaped their values, their worldview, and their ideas about design. Covering the gamut of architecture, graphic design, interior design, landscape architecture, product and industrial design, and urban design, the Designer & Books site has become one of the definitive spaces for designers and commentators across the US and world.
